Cherish
People always said life was hard to survive,
but I never really cared.
Then you came into my life and showed me,
what no one else had dared.
You guided me from my reality,
into yours so carefully.
Hand in hand we walked past my world,
into what seemed to be a fantasy.
Past a world of violence and despair,
where it's a harsh way to live.
Where everyone is an ocean of "take",
and a short shallow river of "give".
Past a world of sinful people,
and every step shows a broken heart.
Past a world where every longing soul,
just seems to want to part.
Into a place so safe and warm,
full of peace and love.
Where we could be together forever,
you're my gift from Heaven above.
And I will always cherish you,
and this world you brought me to.
